
Full Charge Bookkeeper

CLOTH & KIND is a nationally recognized interior design studio with locations in Ann Arbor, MI and Athens, GA. Led by Partners Krista Nye Nicholas & Tami Ramsay, the studio is known for its collaborative approach and classic design aesthetic. Their work has been featured in top publications and they have received prestigious design awards. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Full Charge Bookkeeper at CLOTH & KIND who is ideally able to be onsite in one of our locations (Ann Arbor, MI or Athens, GA).
The Full Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for financial statements, journal entries, bookkeeping, invoicing, sales tax, and accounting tasks on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitor daily all financial cash and credit accounts for transactions, both client related and administrative.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of all cash and credit accounts in Studio Designer and Quickbooks.
- File sales tax in multiple jurisdictions on monthly, quarterly, or annual basis as mandated.
- Create and maintain accurate records of financial transactions by posting to the accounting system of record, Studio Designer (training provided) and Quickbooks.
- Maintain supporting documentation for all transactions in Google Drive.
- Work closely with the project management team to efficiently and promptly reconcile client orders, ensuring accuracy and maximum profitability.
- Manage financial workflow inclusive of client retainers, client proposals for merchandise and labor, monthly invoicing and application of all client payments.
- Process monthly invoicing of time billing, reimbursable expenses, and receiving storing and delivery charges.
- Process and pay vendor invoices in a timely manner (within 3 business days of receipt of invoice / client funds) ensuring invoices are accurate and the client funds have been received for any client related merchandise.
- Manage semi-monthly payroll, including financial/payroll portion of JustWorks.com.
- Manage payment of all 401K contributions as related to payroll deductions to 3rd party 401K provider.
- Generate company specific financial reports as needed.
- Work with the Chief Operating Officer quarterly to perform budget to actual variance analysis.
- Work with the COO monthly to update budgets and allocate actual expenses to the appropriate business unit.
- Work with COO to provide accurate financial reporting to CPA for all tax related activities.
- Assist with and / or lead various office management related tasks.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in interior design or related field.
- Previous experience with Studio Designer Software (or related interior design industry specific program) is preferred, but not required
- Previous Quickbooks experience is a must
- Expertise with Excel and/or Google sheets
- Exceptional organizational skills and an acute attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment with a positive attitude.
